There are so many things to do when you live in Atlanta. I was looking up information on the French Film Festival that happens every summer here, and stumbled upon this series that starts next week. Six movies on the Emory campus. For free. For everyone.
Albertine Cinémathèque 2026 Film Series
Emory University's Department of French and Italian present six films starting Monday, March 23 and run through April 1.
The event is free and open to the public. All films start at 7pm
March 23: When Fall is Coming
Michelle, a retiree in Burgundy, expects her grandson Lucas but a mistake ruins her plans. Her friend Marie-Claude's son is released from prison, reviving Michelle's purpose.
March 24: Holy Cow
Totone's carefree teenage life of drinking and dancing takes a turn when he must provide for his 7-year-old sister. Seeking income, he channels his energy into producing an award-winning comté cheese to claim a competition prize.
March 25: Sudan, Remember Us
They are young Sudanese yearning for freedom. Their revolution is poetic, driven by the power of words. The film reassembles fragments of a revolution, a battle pitting the voices of youth against the military's might.
March 30: Army of Shadows
A 1969 film. An account of underground resistance fighters in Nazi-occupied France.
March 31: Flow
Cat is a solitary animal, but as its home is devastated by a great flood, he finds refuge on a boat populated by various species, and will have to team up with them despite their differences. Animated.
April 1: The Count of Monte Cristo
Edmond Dantes, a sailor falsely accused of treason, is imprisoned in the Château d'If off Marseille. After escaping, and adopting the identity of the Count of Monte Cristo, he plans revenge against those who wrongly accused him.
