The Waterfall in Henderson Park
How to find it:
Drive to the end of Henderson Park Road from the Henderson Park entrance along Livsey Road.
At the furthest parking area by Lake Erin, take the White Trail along the east side of the lake.
After 0.3 mile, reach a junction with the Red Trail at a bridge crossing over a stream feeding into the southeast corner of the lake.
Keep following the White Trail another 0.1 mile and reach a boardwalk at a stream that feeds into the lake from the south.
On the other side, take the Yellow Trail southward along this second stream, and hike 0.15 mile to the waterfall.
Lake Venable Loop at Stone Mountain Park
This mostly shaded unpaved trail that runs around the lake is a favorite walk of mine
About 1.8 miles long and it takes me 40 minutes (slower because I watch my steps… lots of roots and trip hazards, but that also keeps in interesting)
You can make it longer by heading right to the Grist Mill after the footbridge and then walk back along the road.
Keep an eye peeled for Mr. Egret and all the cute turtles.
We park at the children’s playground overflow parking lot which is next to the Catfish Pond.
